Thursday

I am having trouble coming up with creative titles...not sure what is wrong with me here lately. I got an e-mail a couple of days ago from my sweet friend, Addie (who blogs here and here). She asked me if I would drop by her work one day this week, that she had a little something for me. I stopped by today...she didn't just have a little something for me...she had 12 little somethings for me! Whoo hoo! 12 cans of diet Sierra Mist with cranberry. Thank you, Addie!

I had a little something to tend to this afternoon, so the girls stayed with Jason and his parents at their office for a little while. Macy found some roly polys, which she just thought was fabulous. I thought it was pretty cool too, as I used to find roly polys by the hundreds at my Nana's house when I was little *Ü*

However, I would have NEVER let them crawl on my face...creeps!

My father-in-law is always so sweet to pick the girls up things on his trips to Wal-Mart. Today, he got something for me...

Oh...how I love these things...they are so yummy! Next time I get some, I am going to hide them from my children (and my nephew Cade *Ü*)...ha!!

One thing I love about this rainy, humid weather we are having...little ringlets... And I couldn't leave the picture of Macy eating an orange (or more like playing with an orange) out of today's post... Oh! And one more thing. You know I get the heebie jeebies when I go to Wal-Mart on occasion. Well, today, my feelings may have changed a little bit. I had several things I needed to pick up there today...my list was getting quite long. I got what I needed and headed to a check-out line...where I was greeted by the most fantabulous checker ever. Loved her. And I didn't even get her name...wish I had. I always buy confectioner's sugar (LOTS of confectioner's sugar!) when I am in Wal-Mart (it is so funny...I pile my 24 lbs of powdered sugar on the checkout belt, and I always get so tickled when the cashier says, "you must be gonna do some baking." I love that...really...I think it is the cutest thing. I think it is so cute that they pay attention...although it is probably hard NOT to realize that there is 24 lbs of powdered sugar on the belt). Anyways, bless my little checker's heart today...one of the bags had a tiny hole in it, and the poor girl had sugar all of her before it was all said and done. And she just laughed and thought it was so funny. Then...while I was signing my check (yes, I admit, I am one of those old-fashioned, fuddy-duddy check writers), she loaded all my bags in my cart and TIED all my bags up. How cool is that?? So, while I was totally bummed that I didn't run into my buddy Alicia K. during my fabulous Wal-Mart experience, I think I may have fallen back in love with Wal-Mart today! *Ü*

Tuesday

Our weather has sort of gone haywire...nothng new for Mississippi. We were having the most beautiful warm days...and now it is cold and rainy. Who knows what tomorrow's weather will bring!

We spent today at home getting caught up on some things.

And playing with little tiny ponies...

Lucy ate an entire container of strawberries today...she is on a health food kick! Macy is officially horse-obsessed. There are pictures laying all around my house that look a lot like this...
Hope your Tuesday was happy!

I'm Back...For Real This Time!

So...I took a way longer of a break (that sounds SO gramatically incorrect) than I had originally planned to take. I spent the first part of my break out of town...I had a wonderful time. I came home very exhausted, yet very energized...which probably makes no sense, but it is the truth. While I was away, Jason manned the house and the girls and everything else, bless his heart. I got reports that the girls looked just precious at church on Sunday morning...and I realized when downloading pictures from my camera that there were a few Jason had taken so I could see what a good job he had done on their hair.

*Ü*

The weather has been so gorgeous (until today...although you know I think cold and gloomy weather is just perfect, too), so we have been doing lots of playing outside.

Lucy has never had a problem with putting her shoes on the right feet...however, skates are a different story... As soon as we get home from picking Macy up from school, the girls jump out of the car and want to play outside...I love these days...playing hard makes for easier bedtimes *Ü*

Lucy also started tee ball! She has been SUPER excited about playing ball. It's our first time, and I think it is going to be so much fun. While I was out of town, Jason took her shopping for a pink bat, a pink glove, and he is working on a special batting helmet...sweet Daddy.
Springtime means grass-cutting time for Jason. The girls are loving the lawnmower this year...they ride in circles all over the yard...

Macy is so like I used to be (and so NOT how her Daddy used to be)...always reading!
Here's a quick picture I snapped after church yesterday...Macy had already changed into her Statue of Liberty costume from when she was 3 years old (???)...
We also drove over to Starkville and picked up our pottery we painted!

My "joy" coffee mug...
Lucy's owl...
The cross Lucy made for me (I am going to find a necklace to put it on so that I can wear it)...
Macy's cupcake (I think I will add a magnet to the back and use it on the refrigerator)...
And Macy's brush...

And here's a weird scene from tonight...
A hula hoop in the shower. Macy and Lucy are always up to something!

I'm (Sorta Kinda Not Really) Back

I have had a few days away, and all I can say is that I am so very, very blessed.

My cup runneth over.
I had planned on being back in the swing of things on Monday, however my week has not turned out as I thought it was going to. Nothing bad, by any means, just turned a little hectic.
God is so good.

Another Fun Day With Friends

My laptop charger really did start popping and crackling and throwing sparks last night. It is pretty much fried. This post is brought to you by a borrowed charger...we have a super cool computer guru friend who got us the hookup until our new one arrives.

Our friends, the Pounders, are camping out for Spring Break this week and invited us to come out to the campground and play today. We had so much fun! The kids rode bikes, played on the playground, giggled, ate, talked, and just had a great time. I enjoyed getting to visit with Jennifer and chatting and catching up on things.

Macy and Lucy came home and started their Christmas lists. You can probably image what the number one thing on the list is...a camper *Ü*

Here's to another super fun day of Spring Break!

A Fun-Filled Day!

My laptop charger has become a fire hazard, so I am going to kep this post short and sweet *Ü*
Our sweet friends, the Forresters, invited us to go bowling today. The Forresters are a really fun family to be around We have lots in common, and we always laugh a lot when we are with them!

Sweet friends, Macy and Emilee...

Two peas in a pod, Lucy and Ayden (these two are so much alike it is scary)... After our bowling fun, we picked up Jason from work and headed over to Starkville for our annual Spring Break pottery painting!

We started this tradition when Macy was in kindergarten, and we have been every Spring Break since. We always have so much fun. Dandy Doodlez is a paint-your-own-pottery place. You pick what you want to paint, paint it however you want to paint it, then leave it for them to fire it. You get to go back in about a week to pick your finshed pieces up...we love seeing how our creations turn out!

This is what our pieces looked like when we left...
We absolutely LOVE Oby's in Starkville, which is where we always eat after painting our pottery. We were SO disappointed when we drove up to a deserted parking lot...there was a man pressure washing the pavement, and all the kitchen equipment was sitting outside. I guess they were taking advantage of Mississippi State being on Spring Break and doing a little spring cleaning or remodeling or something. Pooh. We decided to eat at Umi's, a hibachi Japanese restaraunt (we ate there for my brother's and my Dad's birthdays about a month ago). We loved it again...it was soooo good, and we always bring home enough leftovers for about 3 more meals. Since it was just the 4 of us, we were put at a habachi table with another family...a Mom and Dad and 3 college-age kids. We had never seen them before and honestly really did not even talk to them during dinner...they sort of kept to themselves, so we just sort of kept to ourselves. The Mother did tell us goodbye as they were getting up to leave, to which Jason politely replied, "See ya'll later." Lucy looked up at Jason very quickly and said, "Daddy...why did you say that? You know we won't ever see those people again!" I got so tickled at her saying that...I really was thinking the same thing in my head, but wouldn't have said it. The girl is quick on her toes.
No matter how much we eat for dinner in Starkville, we HAVE to have Baskin Robbins ice cream *Ü* Macy got chocolate, and Lucy got the wildest looking ice cream you have ever seen.
I got lemon custard...yum-o!
It has been a day full of friends, family, food, and fun!!

And Now For the Rest of the Story...

So, I left out one tiny bit of information while I was blogging about our fun and glorious weekend. Jason was out of town. He left Thursday afternoon. I had no contact with him until about 7:30 Sunday night...zero, zilch, nada. In fact, I had his cell phone with me...he left it on purpose...he kind of HAD to. He went to Emmaus.

I missed him something awful. I knew he was having a wonderful weekend...I knew it was so good for him to have this time...but I still missed him! I mean, I even went to Wal-Mart to cope...that's how bad I missed him!! One of his things is to make the girls frozen chocolate milk every night...every.single.night (we are such creatures of habit around here!). I thought to myself Thursday night (his first night away)...frozen chocolate milk...now I can handle that. Ha! I poured the milk exactly like he does, put the cups in the freezer exactly an hour before they would drink it (and knew to even take them out and squeeze them after half an hour). Leave it to me, though...I decided to rearrange the freezer after putting the cups of milk in it...big mistake! I knocked those two cups out of the freezer...chocolate milk was EVERYWHERE! Under the refrigerator, all over the floor, on the cabinets...EVERYWHERE! And Jason had only been gone a few hours...oh boy. Now had he been here, bless his soul, he would have cleaned up the mess for me.
I will have to say, things went pretty smoothly the rest of the weekend. We only set off the burglar alarm once, and I did remember to feed our dog. I think I missed him most on Sunday morning. He always does my hair on Sunday mornings. Yes...you read that right...Jason does my hair on Sunday mornings. He has this issue with being on time (he likes to be early...a word that wasn't put in my internal dictionary). We live 35 seconds from our church, but we need to leave 20 minutes early to get there on time. So he does my hair for me...he dries and brushes it as I am putting on my makeup. I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but it is the sweetest thing. He transforms himself into Jon Rick (pronounced Jawn Reek in his really funny accented voice...and he rolls the "R") and goes to town on my hair. I didn't feel quite myself Sunday morning having to fix my own hair...oh the horrors of that!
Remember when I said that the girls were watching "Nanny McPhee" (or "Nanny McThee"...Lucy insists that it is McThee instead of McPhee) Saturday night? Well, the real "Nanny McPhee" showed up at our house today, bucktooth and warts included...
Macy makes me laugh. I love, love, love when she is out of school...she is so very entertaining. She does things like "accidentally" gets cool whip on her nose while eating dessert...and pretends that she doesn't know it is there...and I know she knows...but it is so hilarious...
I had to pick up a few things at the drugstore today. I realized when I got home that I did a little color coordinated shopping again...
Love eos lip balm...it lasts forever. "Lemon drop" is my favorite flavor. And also matching my finds today...
Diet Sun Drop...might possibly be my NEW favorite drink! Didn't I JUST tell you that diet Sierra Mist was my favorite?? Well move over, here's something new (at least until my cranberry flavored diet Sierra Mist comes back out). And my little local grocery store carries diet Sun Drop. It is so yummy!
Hope ya'll had a happy Monday...we are looking forward to a fun week...hope you are too!
P.S. Jason is home now...he made it in about 10 o'clock last night. I have never been so excited to see him!!!! And he was so excited to see us! *Ü*
P.S.S. I made a big meal for him tonight for supper...see the recipes that follow this post!
