Please Pray for Evan

Over the weekend, a little friend of Macy's was struck by lightning. His name is Evan. I do not know how private the family is wanting to be, so I will not say his last name on my blog. Please, please pray for this precious little boy. He went into cardiac arrest twice after being struck, but was revived. He is on a ventilator and is fighting for his life. I cannot imagine how devastating this is for this family. I know that with God ALL things are possible, and I believe that He can and will heal this little boy. Please join me in prayer for Evan. Thank you!

Ceeeeeelebrate Good Times, Come On!

After celebarting Macy's birthday yesterday, we headed over to swim with some friends of ours from church. The girls had a blast, and so did the parents =)
Then we came home and celebrated Macy a little more =)
She showed me 2 cute little dresses that she liked from this website earlier in the week, so I ordered them for her for her birthday. She was really excited when she opened her presents and realized they were the same ones she had picked out (and that I didn't get Lucy the same ones to match)!

Little toot-toot was quite excited about Macy's birthday herself...

I had to get my usual Sunday pictures today.

Macy is so excited to be 8 years old...

Then, we headed to my parents' camphouse for more birthday fun and also to celebrate Memorial Day.

My sweet nephew, Cade...
We had lots of watermelon...

Carson...showing us how us "how it's done when you're a boy from Alabama."
Lucy had her fill of strawberries...I think she ate this whole bowl!
More Cookie Mama cookies for the birthday girl...
And a Memorial Day celebration would not be complete without roasting marshmallows over a fire and making s'mores.

We had a wonderful weekend of celebrations. It was a lot of fun and many memories were made. However, it is important to remember that Memorial Day is a time of remembrance...remembering those who have fought for our freedom and are still fighting for it today. "All gave some, and some gave all" has really been on my mind this weekend. We watched a short, but very touching video in church this morning about those who have fought for our freedom. So many times we take this for granted, but it is something we should never forget. I have several friends whose husbands are over in Iraq right now, and I want them to know that they have been on my heart and in my prayers.
I hope you all had a wonderful and safe weekend!

Macy's Polka Dot Birthday Party

Macy is a pretty simple little girl. She requested a polka dot party spend-the-night party this year.
We found these precious polka dot paper products (say that real fast a bunch of times) here. I dug out all the polka dot ribbon I could find in my ribbon stashes and decorated the light fixture above our table. I included some solid and striped ribbons, ric-rac, and pom-poms as well. This was a fun little last-minute idea I had. I really like how it turned out!
She wanted 2 of her best little friends from school at her party... And Bippy surprised them by coming over and doing mani/pedis. I didn't tell Macy that Bippy was even coming to town this weekend, so she was totally surprised when my sister showed up at the party!
My sweet girl even requested a Cookie Mama cookie cake instead of a regular birthday cake =)

The cookie cake had cookies to depict each little girl at the party.
After the manicures and pedicures, the girls embellished flip-flops, which were part of the party favors.
Macy's birthday party was so much fun!
