Enjoying Some Bee-yoo-tee-ful Weather!

Oh, we have just had some of the most fabulous weather for August lately! It has been so nice to get outside and play and not sweat like crazy...and it still be August!! We had the best afternoon and evening today. Macy and Lucy played in the driveway while I cleaned out Fiona...it was getting just plain embarassing when the Patriot Patrol would get Macy out of the car in the morning and when the teachers would put her in the car in the afternoon. There was stuff everywhere, and I don't tolerate a messy car too well. Anywho...it was just a really nice afternoon, and we had so much fun outside.
You know, 'cause we're cool like that :)

A Good Day

Today has been a great Sunday. Here are Macy and Lucy right before heading out the door to church...
Notice Macy's smile is back! Thankfully, her mouth is feeling much better :)
I have to share a funny story about Lucy...this past week, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a scale...went all out and bought a digital (whoa!) one. I got back on the Weight Watchers band wagon (which I hate to even bring up here because I feel like I have been on and off and on and off, and ya'll are probably getting tired of hearing about it!)...I am just doing the home version (not going to weigh-ins every week or anything like that). Usually when I do it at home, I just judge how I am doing by the way my clothes are feeling. But, since the majority of my wardrobe consists of jersey knit right now, judging by how my clothes fit isn't working anymore...jersey knit just stretches with you! Anyway...you have to tap the scale a couple of times for it to turn on and set itself to zero before standing on it for your weight, or an "E" will pop up meaning "ERROR." Lucy is obsessed with it...she loves weighing herself. One day this week, she was in the bathroom weighing herself, and I asked her how much she weighed. She said to me, in the most excited tone, "Mama! I weigh E!" Oh...to weigh E...and it just not matter :)
While trying to finish up my consignment sale stuff this afternoon, Jason took some really funny pictures of Lucy...here are just a couple of them...
I'm thinking I may need to call the YMCA tomorrow about some gymnastics lessons. She's a little more limber than we thought she would be.
Tonight, Macy and Lucy decided to put on a show for Jason and me. They were too funny...a video would be better, but you know I am just not that technologically savvy yet.
Maybe I WILL call the Y tomorrow...
They took turns performing for us. Lucy (the one who has decided the spotlight should ALWAYS be on her now) loves stealing Macy's thunder. Macy said "ain't happening."
Here is Lucy reading us the story of the wise man who built his house upon the rock...

3 pictures right in a row of them pointing...maybe I do that too much?
These two are ALL about their Daddy. They have the best Daddy in the whole wide world!!
It is so nice to see this girl smiling after a pretty rough trip to the dentist!!
Now, on to me...
Do you watch this show? I am hooked. Sunday nights at 9:00 CST on Lifetime...I am there. My one hour of t.v. a week that used to be spent on "Jon and Kate Plus 8" has been replaced with "Army Wives." I caught a few episodes off and on, here and there for the first few seasons, but I am a huge fan this season!
Hope your weekend was fantastic and hope your week starts off great!

Now We Know What a Franectomy Is...

I think I mentioned a few weeks ago after we visited the dentist that Macy was going to have to have a franectomy. And when I talked about it to others, trying to figure out if anybody else's child(ren) had ever had one of these, most people were like "a fra-what??" So I did a little research on it, and after yesterday...we know fully well what a franectomy is. It is when the skin that connects the top lip to your gums has to be clipped and relocated, because it is attached too close to the top teeth. Well, would you know...Macy's dentist said hers was the worst case he had seen...hers was actually attached almost the roof of her mouth (like it went inbetween her two front teeth and wrapped around...if that makes sense). Go figure. They had to use double the shots, double the numbing medicine, double the laughing gas (Macy gets very giddy on laughing gas), and double the stitches. Macy was SUCH a big girl...I was so proud of her! This is after...it was a little hard to smile :)So now that we know what a franectomy is, we also what it takes to make a little girl feel better after a franectomy. Lots of balloons and flowers!
This is the balloon with the "bugle" (beagle) dog as Macy says. Lucy calls it a "basket" hound (basset hound).
Macy was really good until nightfall, and her mouth started bothering her. After a good night sleep, she was all good to go. The girls even got outside today to play for a little bit.

Macy is still having a little trouble smiling :)
Macy did so well, but I am starting to pray now that the above little girl will NOT have to have this procedure done...I don't think she would be quite the perfect patient that her big sister was. This child is in her OWN ZONE.
Hope ya'll are having a GREAT weekend!!

Feeling Better and A Finished Book

Lucy is feeling better, although she still has a runny nose, a yucky cough, and ran a low grade temp off and on today...she wasn't into having her picture made today, so you'll have to settle for a picture of a happy face cookie :)
And I did manage to get pick up a copy of this book and get through it...
But I did not love it. I wanted to like it, but I just didn't. I was determined to finish it, which I did, but it was not one of my favorites. Will I see the movie? I think so...probably when it comes out on DVD.

A Sick Little Girl and Fun Finds at Walgreens

This baby girl is sick today...Last night, Lucy started coughing, and her nose started running. Then she started running fever. So I had to restock on these precious commoditories...
While at Walgreens, I found this really cool lip balm (I love lip balm...I have to have either lip gloss or lip balm on my lips at ALL times).
Isn't it cute?
And this is the best smelling candle I have ever had...Walgreens carries this collection of candles by Kathy Ireland (sp?). They are all different crumb cake scents (like "plain crumb cake", "oatmeal raisin crumb cake", "pumpkin spice crumb cake", etc.). I got "vanilla crumb cake"...it smells FABULOUS...like I think it might actually be edible! Oh, and the smell is making me crave fall...after the exceptionally cool and beautiful weekend we had, I am SO ready for soup and pumpkins and football and all the fun stuff that comes with my favorite season of the year!
So while I am not so thrilled about Lucy being sick, I am pretty excited about my fabulous finds at Walgreens!
Oh, yeah, and rumor has it (or so I was told today) that I have the flu...not sure how this got started, but I do NOT have the flu...I am not even sick! Funny how you find out things about yourself, isn't? People seem to know more about you these days than you know yourself...isn't that called something like gossip? Word to the wise...if you hear something about someone else, but aren't 100% positive it is the truth...keep it to yourself...don't spread it (or for that matter, don't spread if even if you are 100% positive it is the truth). Sorry for getting on a soap box...just sharing my thoughts :)

Gettin' Sassy

I have been a terrible blogger lately...getting back in the school routine has been tough for us! Last week was one of those weeks where there seemed like we had something every day (and a lot of it was SUPER fun...so I am NOT complaining!). This weekend, Jason's brother and his family came home (they are "The Willcutt Family" blog on my sidebar), so ALL of the Willcutt family was together...and would you know I don't have a single picture to prove it??!! I do have some pictures of my girls playing dressup, though...Check out the boots (which have become an everyday thing around our house), and the teeny-tiny sunglasses on Lucy's head...
Here are the girls playing dressup in some of Jason's sister's old dance costumes...Check out the shoes (which I must say, Lucy walked expertly in)...
Too funny...
We had a great weekend...hope you did too!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my birthday! I love birthdays!! I spent my birthday lunch at Macy's school...Tuesdays are my lunch duty day. Lucy thinks it is so much fun...we pack her a little lunch so she can eat with the big girls and boys at school, and she always has to take her "packpack." I got a cool new rooster to hang in my kitchen...
an awesome new purse (which is already stuffed to the max and is in FULL use!)...
I got the sweetest birthday package in the mail today with a cute makeup bag for my new purse...
I got flowers (gerber daisies are my ABSOLUTE favorite!)...
And that was just the beginning! We went out to dinner tonight...of course I chose Peking :) If our town had a P.F. Chang's, I would STILL choose Peking!
After dinner, Macy had a homemade card for me...
Jason had a gift from the girls and him...
Aren't these cool? I am planning on hanging them on my double front doors...
And I even got a cake!
With candles!!
I have had so many phone calls, texts (although I can't reply!), e-mails, and messages on my machine today...thank you ALL for making my day so special!
On our way home from dinner tonight, we passed a church sign with one of my favorite quotes...
It is SO true!
