Sweet Picture and The Wild (But Clean) Child

Despite the rain today (I do love these kind of days), we went to Tupelo to carry some things for the New2U Consignment sale (if you have live near Tupelo and have never been to the sale...you have to go check it out...it is absolutely amazing...a whole furnitue market building chock full of kids' stuff...it is unbelievable!!) Lucy and I went through Amory and stopped in LaLa & Company, and we went to Hobby Lobby after dropping out stuff off in Tupelo...what a great day!! Hey Amy S...if you decide to follow us around TOMORROW...call me...we'll hitch a ride...Lucy can entertain Bes, Bes can entertain Lucy...it might work!!
I love this picture of Macy and Lucy right before bedtime tonight. Yes, they even wear matching pajamas (sometimes)...you know how I heart me some matchy-matchy little girls :) (These are from Gymboree). This was taken like 2 minutes before falling asleep...they were pooped! Macy was supposed to play her violin in a talent show at school tonight, but the show was cancelled :( I had Macy play part of her fiddle tune while I videoed her on my old digital camera, but I cannot get it to download...if anyone can help me, let me know!!
Have I mentioned that this girl is wild?? She decided to style her hair in the bathtub tonight...not only the hair on her head, but the hair above her eyes too (those are called eyebrows, Lucy).

This is a picture I took yesterday. Lucy and I were about to get in the car, when I noticed she was rolling her pants legs up to her knees. I asked her what she was doing, and she said "So my pants don't get dirty." Bless her little heart...she is just like me. I did NOT tell her to do that!! Just this past Sunday, she had gotten out of the car by herself (which I generally discourage) when we got home from church, but didn't shut the door. Jason asked her why she didn't shut it, to which she answered, "I didn't want to get my hands dirty." She may be wild, but she is defintely clean :)

You're Hot Then You're Cold and Other Weekend Stuff

Just when we were getting so used to absolutely gorgeous warm weather...bam...it turned cold again! I was about to put up all the coats...it has been that pretty...but we live in Mississippi you know. Saturday, we were playing outside in shorts and shortsleeves, when literally the temperature dropped like 10 to 15 degrees in a mere second! That didn't stop us though...we grabbed jackets and set up play in the back of Fiona the Ford (can you say redneck?) while Daddy was working on his FJ40 Landcruiser (and I did NOT say redneck about that...he assures me it is going to be REALLY cool and that I'll be begging him for a ride in it).

Macy and Lucy wanted M&Ms for lunch...so they ate M&Ms for lunch. I mean, it was Saturday! Am I a cool Mommy or what? I do not normally feed my girls chocolate for meals (except for the chocolate & marshmallow cream sandwiches I have made them on occasion)! However, chocolate and sugar have never made a change in behavior for them...how could you tell if they were any more hyper??!!

Here they are in the back of Fiona the Ford...comfy, huh?

I do love me a closeup or two or four of Macy and Lucy :)

Here we all are in the back of Fiona...it was freezing! Note my look...quite often do I wear a long-sleeve white t-shirt underneath a short-sleeve colored t-shirt (can I say I love layers?), like all the time quite often. It was funny because Lucy dressed herself Saturday morning, and guess what she put on? You got it (although hard to tell in this picture b/c she had her sleeves pushed up)...a long-sleeve white t-shirt underneath a short-sleeve colored t-shirt. She notices EVERYTHING!
Here you can see her stylin' like her Mommy here :) That little girl can work a laptop like crazy! Do you have Windows Vista? Purble Place has great games (fun and educational) for little ones.

Bananas make Macy smile :) Jason even cut grooves into it for teeth.

Lucy in goggles...ha! Need I say anything else about this picture?
Hope your weekend was great...have a wonderful week!

Busy Day Followed by a Night on the Town

Macy finished her achievement tests today...yay! We have been getting up extra early (like earlier than 15 minutes before we need to leave for school...kidding about that 15 minute thing...maybe) and pumping her full of scrambled eggs every morning this week. Those achievement test have worn her out! Lucy and I had a rather busy day while Macy was at school...running here and there and everywhere...busy but fun.

Can you believe the Willcutts had a night out on the town? Whoa baby! Tonight was the MUCH anticipated father/daughter spring fling at school (sponsored by the Girl Scouts). Macy has been anxiously awaiting this night, as she and Jason had so much fun last year. Jason even got new khakis for the event :) Here are Macy and Jason just before leaving. (I know you love having your picture on the blog, J).

These were the "corsages" that the girls wore at the fling...isn't that a cute idea? Just a silk gerber daisy hotglued onto a grosgrain ribbon, then hotglued onto a silk ribbon which tied around their wrists...super cute!

Lucy and I decided we should have a night out ourselves...only we had to take our own pictures...we have gotten good at that timer thingy on our camera. Lucy wanted a cheesy tater and a pickle at Peppers, so that is where we went. Then we made stops at Walgreens for contact solution (I am going through it like crazy with all of the pollen in the air) and Kroger for birthday ice cream...Lucy loves the kind with the turquoise frosting (yes, she knows the difference between turquoise and blue...that's my girl). I had to stock up on 100 calorie snacks...I was running low (100 calorie snacks are all 2 WW points BTW). Speaking of WW...I went to weigh in today and was 4 minutes late :( The place was closed up tight...guess I'll have to wait until next week. I am out of space in my 12 week journal (that's right...I have logged every bite I have taken for the past 12 weeks)...which is driving me crazy not to have my journal...but I'll survive. I ate some junky food this afternoon (still counted my points, though), and I felt so yuck! Sticking to the WW plan and getting the right amounts of fruits/veggies/water/milk makes me feel so great that I don't even want to eat junk.

Have a wonderful (rainy) weekend...sounds like a monsoon is out there right now!

Silly Girls, My Pantry, School, and Letters

Macy got a haircut. Jason and I think shorter hair makes her look younger, so I'll think we'll keep it short :)

This child is just wild. Her sense of humor is much like her sister's :) Last night, she was jumping on my bed as I was blow drying Macy's hair. When I told her to quit jumping, she very quickly said "I am not jumping, Mommy. I am exercising." Oh dear. She is a quick-thinker, just like her Daddy.

I am in major spring cleaning mode. I want to go through and clean out, straighten up, and organize everything in my house...not all at once, of course, but little by little, I want to get it all done. I started with my pantry. I needed to make a grocery store run yesterday, so I cleaned it before I went. Here is my pantry before (it wasn't TOO terribly bad).

And here it is after. All straight...still lots of stuff...but that's what pantries are for, right?

And here it is after going to the grocery store. Now we have something to eat :)

Macy has been doing achievement testing at school...remember that? I was asked to watch her class for about an hour during and after lunch today, so Lucy got to eat lunch with the big kids...she was excited to take her little lunch box and visit.

Since it is pouring rain today, I decided to do 2 letter crafts with Lucy...U for umbrella and R for rainbow.

And now Macy and Lucy are watching "Bolt"...they have been begging to rent it. It is a really cute movie!

A Little Bit of Lucy, Signs of Spring, and My Necklace

Lucy makes me laugh. Sweet Jason did the Wal-Mart run last night (love him for that...not JUST for that...but it is pretty cool that I haven't seen the inside of Wal-Mart in months...don't get me wrong, I love Wal-Mart...it just makes life a little easer that he goes for the "necessities"). Perhaps I have been obsessing for days that I am almost out of my vanilla caramel creamer...then obsessing because I actually ran out of my vanilla caramel creamer...because as Lucy was helping unload the bags (she loves doing that), she squealed with excitement and said, "Mommy, you got your Nilla Cweamer now!" She seriously looked excited as I actually was :)

There is just about nothing as sweet as a child's writing and drawings, except for the child itself. Sunday morning while Jason and Macy were at church, Lucy busied herself writing...I think she may love to write as much as her Mommy :) She very excitedly said "Mommy, I wrote Macy." And sure enough, she had. So sweet. I got her to write the alphabet for me...she did a great job...had to share the "E" and the "F"...they were my favorites!

Two definte signs of Spring...a big mason jar full of flowers that Macy picked for me this afternoon...and Jason bringing home the big tractor for mowing the yard :)

I get compliments on my necklace every day...this has been one of my favorite gifts to myself ever! I got it at http://www.lisaleonardonline.com Lisa Leonard is awesome to work with, and it arrived very quickly! I love supporting a Mommy business!!

Spring Fever and Movie Night

We have Spring fever...literally! Lucy has been running a temp for the last few days...poor baby...she has been sick so much! There are really no other symptoms...maybe a tiny bit of a runny nose, but that is really it. She looks a little puny form all of the fever and acts really ill at times. I have talked to a few people this week whose childresn have had a fever virus, so I am hoping that is all it is. If it keeps up, we'll be going to the doctor tomorrow :(

Last night, we rented "The Derby Stallion". Of course we were drawn to it (or at least the girls were) because it starred Zac Effron from Highschool Musical. It was a really good movie! It had some home-movie qualites (sort of like "Flywheel", another GREAT movie by the makers of "Fireproof"), but is was great. We ALL enjoyed it!

Happy Spring!

Today was the first day of spring! What a beautiful day it has been...what a beautiful week it has been! We are so excited for the arrival of spring at our house...long days, lots of time to play outside, bright sunshine, blue skies, Old Navy gaucho skirts, Wal-Mart $ 2.50 flip-flops...so many things to be thankful for!

Why Daddy Got A Good Night's Sleep Last Night

This picture is no joke...this is actually how Jason found us this morning when he got up from one of the best night's sleep he has had in almost 7 years (wonder why?). Macy, Lucy, and I are literally on HALF of our couch. Spring Break for us means staying up late (like REALLY late) and sleeping late (like embarrassingly late...I am blessed with children that will sleep until 10:00 some mornings...not all mornings, but some mornings). So last night, the girls and I piled up on the couch to watch a movie, fell asleep, and never made it to the bed. This picture won't surprise most of you :)
P.S. The blood has not rushed to my head...I got a little sunburned playing outside yesterday.

Children's Hands-On Museum

We went to the Children's Hands-On Museum in Tuscaloosa today. We had a blast!! The girls and I, Leslie and the boys, and Amy Sumrall and Bess piled up and drove over...3 Mamas and a 3 month old, a 1 year old, a 3 1/2 year old, a 4 1/2 year old, and a 6 1/2 year old. They were as good as gold! If you live anywhere near this museum, I highly recommend it...everything is hands-on, and it is really neat!

This picture is for my Daddy (and the next one, too).
